CUET PG 2026 Marking Scheme – How Your Score Is Calculated

The marking scheme explains how marks are awarded or deducted in the CUET PG 2026 exam. Knowing this helps students attempt questions wisely and avoid unnecessary negative marks.

Marks for Correct Answers

  • Each correct answer usually gives +4 marks

  • This may vary slightly if NTA changes the pattern for 2026

Negative Marking

  • −1 mark is generally deducted for every wrong answer

  • This means blind guessing can reduce your final score

Unattempted Questions

  • No marks are given or deducted

  • It is safe to skip questions you are unsure about

How Is the Final Score Prepared?

  • Raw marks are calculated first

  • NTA may apply normalization if the exam is held in multiple shifts

  • Final scores are shown in the scorecard

Student Tip

Attempt only those questions where you can eliminate at least two options. This reduces risk and improves accuracy.
